What's the best location for my parakeet cage?

Place the parakeet cage in a room near the center of activity - the family room or living room. Parakeets are flock birds and want to be near you. Avoid putting the parakeet cage in or near the kitchen as kitchen fumes can be toxic for birds and kitchens are full of hazards for parakeets. Teflon fumes are toxic and deadly. Be sure the cage is high up, away from the reach of any pets, yet not so high that you can't see the bottom of the cage to check parakeet poops and easily clean. Keep the parakeet cage away from doors, windows, heating vents and air conditioners. A parakeet cage should be kept out of direct sunlight and away from drafts. Place the parakeet cage in a place where the temperature remains steadfast between 65-85 degrees and does not fluctuate alot.
